Explore the people, animals and environment of the Arctic Sea Ice in a visually stunning and captivating framework that makes learning science and culture an adventure of its own. The Arctic Sea Ice educational package is based on a modular concept, such that educators can adapt and organize the various components of each unit to fit their own teaching methods and lesson plans. Designed for classrooms, interpretation centers and independent study, the package will be distributed on interactive DVD accompanied by a teacher's guide. Each component will include a multi-media feature, classroom and field activities, links to resources, and lesson plans for educators linked to 8-12 science and cultural curriculum.

This project is an International Polar Year Education and Outreach Initiative led by Dr. Joel Heath at the University of British Columbia. Release is scheduled for Fall 2010.
